Pam Turlow gives a compelling performance of this sweet faith-based romance. Mail-order bride Elli Korpela, from Finland, is eager to start a life with her new husband, Nathan White, and his young niece. But when an intruder attacks Elli, she wonders if dark and dangerous secrets from her past have followed her to America. Turlow’s use of a slight accent and a soft tone offers a credible portrayal of Elli’s shy, quiet side. Turlow’s steadiness reveals Elli’s determination to stay with her new husband in spite of her changing circumstances.
