MURDER-IN-LAW

by | Read by Alan Zimmerman

Mystery & Suspense • 6 hrs. • Abridged • © 2000

Kathy Heatherman's sister, Jennifer, has been murdered in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Jennifer's husband, Mark, is the most likely suspect. But Kathy is attacked twice more while Mark is in jail, so who's the killer? In the meantime, Mark is calling in favors with one of the murderers, so what's the story? If you can get past the poor writing, maybe this mystery will grab you. But Kroetch uses formulaic and simplistic dialogue and not very believable action scenes. His book is abridged so poorly that the scenes tumble over one another and the transitions are nonexistent. Further, Alan Zimmerman begins most sentences with loud bursts of violent words, only to have the dialogue become inaudible by the end of the paragraph. M.B.K.
