Listeners may want to start with Book 1 of Dotta's series as this audiobook begins precisely where that book left off, with no backstory. Narrator Amanda McKnight's soothing English accent is well suited to this story, set in London society during the reign of Queen Victoria. McKnight captures every emotion as 17-year-old Julia Elliston Pierson is pulled in different directions by the four men in her life: her newly discovered father; her husband, Chance Macy; the man her father wishes her to marry, Isaac; and her true love, Edward.
