In this third book in the Charlotte "Charlie" Stone paranormal series, narrator Ann Marie Lee continues to have fun and stay just this side of campy. Charlie, a gorgeous serial killer expert who can commune with the newly dead, and her ghost sidekick and sometimes lover, Michael, are hot on the trail of another serial killer who may have abducted the sister of an FBI colleague. Lee reaches into a bag chock full of great character voices. She gives Michael a gravelly and sexy Southern accent; Tam, another spook expert, the charming and low voice of a Southern belle; and the serial killer, Spivey, a childlike but chilling voice.
