BONES NEVER LIE

With a moderate pace and conversational tone, Katherine Borowitz narrates this reprise of the Temperance Brennan series of psychological thrillers. When the forensic anthropologist is unexpectedly called upon to consult with the Charlotte, North Carolina, Cold Case unit, she’s surprised to discover she might have a personal connection with the murders of two children, thousands of miles apart. Borowitz recounts Tempe’s investigation in a natural, introspective tone, revealing her reluctance to reenter the horrifying world of twisted killer Anique Pomerleau. While Borowitz doesn’t attempt vocal changes for many of the characters, she does provide a fragile but masculine tone for Tempe’s former lover, Andrew Ryan, who is still devastated over the loss of his daughter.
