SOLE SURVIVOR

Great Barrier Island lies just off of the east coast of New Zealand, not far from Auckland by air. The remote northern end of the island is home to three hermit-like men. When one dies and leaves his meager homestead to a woman, the unspoken rules of solitude are demolished. SOLE SURVIVOR lays bare the fears that plague us all. Peter Wickham offers a fully voiced presentation of this wonderful, sometimes funny story. Wickham captures the passion of Hansen’s characters, as well as their conflicting emotions. Listeners feel the spirit and hurt of each of these lost souls--and sense the spark of hope each one carries. In the end, it’s Rosie, "that damned woman," who brings positive change for all. T.J.M.
