MAGGIE AND THE FEROCIOUS BEAST The Big Scare

John McDonough has a gravelly, gruff voice that is fierce enough but not too frightening as he portrays the Ferocious Beast, friend to Maggie and her companion, Hamilton Hocks. In this episode, while they share with the Beast all that frightens them, including sea monsters, ghosts, closet goblins, and monsters under the bed, he queries repeatedly, "Have you ever seen one?" When the Beast confides HIS fear, laughter reigns. Ultimately, the Beast has the last word, and the three appreciate the value of friends with whom each can freely share one's feelings.
