With farce and satire, Mike Daisey writes and reads his account of being a disgruntled Amazon.com lower-level employee for seven years. From why he hated Christmas to why he loved Seattle, his rambling, profane memories make it hard to discern fiction from friction in the company. Included are imaginary emails he wrote to CEO Jeff Bezos. Although easy to understand, the author's exaggerated reading style keeps him too enthusiastic about the mundane. The immature attitudes and expectations he relates regarding his workplace profess no lessons of leadership; the mixture of street language with words like "epiphany" and "avuncular" may entertain an audience desperate for humor.
