DEEP FREEZE

Dr. Fenton-Green bends the rules in the May Anderson Hospital by performing late abortions. When two women are ruthlessly murdered, the town is in an uproar. Is a local anti-abortion group showing its displeasure, or has visiting American evangelist Edgar Burridge inadvertently brought the killer to town? Michael Tudor Barnes keeps his pace and manner low-key to fit the seriousness of the subject. He also effectively delivers the villagers' wide-ranging emotions. Particularly heartrending is the Smith family, who are gypsies, tragic and unusual, yet always believable.
