SILVER BLAZE

David Ian Davies gives a fine performance of this Sherlock Holmes story, bringing to life the great detective and his colleague, Watson. Davies provides a suitably highbrow British persona when portraying the detective, and delivers equally fine performances for the other characters. The production, however, has some background noise and skips appear periodically throughout the recording, and the entire piece is burned as one track on the CD and it is impossible to bookmark one's place. That said, Conan Doyle's story is what any Sherlock Holmes fan would expect, and Davies does the sleuth great justice in the reading. H.L.S. © AudioFile 2003, Portland, Maine [Published: FEB / MAR 03]
