WOLF'S BANE

WOLF'S BANE is an intriguing fantasy of humankind tethered to an alien planet, struggling to overcome treachery that took place eight centuries past. At its center is the healer Dion, whose mind link with the planet's wolves provides the axis of the story. Karen White's narration is first-rate, especially her ability to portray subtle nuances of characters' feelings. White's cadences often possess a hypnotic quality, drawing the listener more deeply to characters than the book alone might. Thus, White enhances an already good story. P.H.M.
