THE SEVEN SONGS OF MERLIN

by | Read by Kevin Isola

Young Adult • 10 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1997

The second installment in The Lost Years of Merlin series follows the teenaged Merlin as he embarks on a quest to find the soul of each of the Seven Songs of Wisdom and travels to the Otherworld to save his mother's life. Merlin is a combination of pride, bravery, and recklessness, qualities narrator Kevin Isola conveys in every nuance of his voice. Isola creates unique voices for all the characters, even minor ones, such as the booming voice of the giant, Shim, and the breathy voice of the wind sister, Aylah. His voice for the dour jester, Bumbelwy, sounds stereotypically slow and stupid, but this is a minor flaw in a fine performance. A.F. (c) AudioFile 2003, Portland, Maine [Published: APR/MAY 03]
