Pert Wilson first meets her father at the age of 15. With his arrival, neither Pert's family nor the Kinship Trailer Park will ever be the same. As Pert moves from infatuation to perception to acceptance of who her father really is, characters witness her transformation and offer their own reflections about the goings-on of the park. Julia Gibson makes Pert a touching, lovable girl struggling with reconciling expectations and reality. Other narrators, including George Guidall, Johnny Heller, and Sally Darling, lend their voices as park residents.
