THE OTHER 1492 Ferdinand, Isabella, and the Making of an Empire

Professor Ruiz discusses three important historical events that took place around 1492: the unification of Spain as a country by the marriage of Ferdinand and Isabella, the beginning of the Reformation of the Catholic Church, and the discovery of the New World. The professor's native language is Castilian Spanish, so his English grammar and pronunciation are compromised, but his ability to pronounce and interpret the abundant Spanish is natural, a more important asset to the understanding and enjoyment of the lectures than perfect English.
