SPECTRED ISLE Green Men, Book 1

Set in 1920s England, this supernatural audiobook comes with a dash of romance. Archaeologist Saul and arcanist Randolph find they keep crossing paths, much to the consternation and hopeful delight of both men. Narrator Ruairi Carter gives all the characters in this romance, the majority of whom are male, unique voices, making it easy for the listener to distinguish between each one. He also adds the appropriate amount of suspense, fear, and desire to scenes full of intense emotion, though other portions have a more straightforward tone that doesn't match the general feel of the story. There are times that his pronunciations are muddled, making it difficult for the listener to comprehend the exact word being spoken. Overall, Carter provides an uneven performance.
