Gerard Doyle does well in narrating this account of the aftermath of WWI. Beginning with the negotiations that brought about the armistice of November 11, 1918, this account portrays the end of the conflict from the perspectives of a number of individuals. The devastation of the war drastically changed Western civilization, and the postwar optimism for a better world was short lived. Doyle's Irish accent may surprise some listeners who might expect a British or American accent for a topic like this. His voice is clear and understandable, though he sometimes rushes through phrases. Nonetheless, this is a more than adequate production.
