THE NIGHT BEFORE

A diabolical serial killer calling herself Atropos meticulously tortures and murders several people connected to Savannah's wealthy family, the Montgomerys. Caitlyn Montgomery Bandeaux suffers from blackouts and awakens the morning after her estranged husband's murder soaked in blood. Is it any surprise that this experience leads her to the office and arms of the new psychologist in town? Alyssa Bresnahan portrays the many characters clearly and shines with the characters of Cait and the foul-mouthed single-mom cop who is on the case. Curiously, Bresnahan doesn't attempt to use Southern accents in this Southern setting, a choice that adds universality but negates any sense of place. D.T.H.
