JOY ENOUGH A Memoir

Writer Sarah McColl narrates her memoir about love, the relationships between a mother and her children, and the end of a marriage, giving the listener brief views of her life. McColl tells her stories as a series of vignettes, seemingly going from one piece to the next with nary a breath between. Whether discussing her childhood, her mother's illness and death, or her failing marriage, McColl weaves the topics into stream-of-consciousness expressions of joy, love, and grief. But her subdued manner of performing belies the unfolding dramas, doing a disservice to the stories she narrates as the listener's mind tends to wander.
