Narrator Jonathan Todd Ross's pleasant, wry tone is the perfect counterpoint to the darkness in this twisting fairy tale. When goblin Kull botches an attempt to leave behind a changeling, Annie suddenly finds her infant son has become twins. She lovingly raises Tinn and Cole as brothers, with no one knowing which one is the goblin. When they're nearly 13, they are drawn into the Wild Wood and the dangerous Oddmire, where they search for the truth about themselves. Kull and Annie forge an odd alliance to search for the boys; the delightful brogue Ross gives Kull juxtaposed with Annie's no-nonsense mom voice reflects the blend of folklore and realism at the heart of the story.
