TRANSFORMATION OF THE AMERICAN PRESIDENCY From Theodore Roosevelt to Ronald Reagan

by | Read by Robert Dallek

History • 14 hrs. • Audio Program • © 2003

A good summary of presidential politics in the twentieth century takes a centrist point of view. The presentation is most suitable for high school and college students interested in brief summaries of character and accomplishments. The presentation is in the live lecture format, so there are occasional grammatical errors and some intentional redundancy; but the ideas are presented with the author's obvious relish for the subject matter. Professor Dallek's Long Island accent may be off-putting for some, but his cadence is deliberate and circumspect, supporting both clarity and comprehension. The set is accompanied by an illustrated course guide. J.W. (c) AudioFile 2004, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT/ NOV 04]
