This memoir is a delightful romp through a selective history of show business from the 1940s to the present, beautifully written and narrated by actor John Byner. Co-writer Douglass Wellman reads the foreword written by Nathan Lane. The audiobook emphasizes the positive in Byner's life and career, and his narration is impeccable and warm--much like his comedy. He is proud of always "working clean." This memoir will help younger listeners fill in gaps in their showbiz knowledge, and those more mature can realistically re-live the halcyon days of "The Ed Sullivan Show" and the various talk and variety efforts of Steve Allen, Mike Douglas, and Merv Griffin, among others. Long on friendships and short on vitriol, this generous memoir is not to be missed. W.A.G. © AudioFile 2020, Portland, Maine [Published: NOVEMBER 2020]
