After her marriage falls apart, Angie DeSaria Malone returns to her family's home in West End, Washington. While immersing herself in work at her family's restaurant, she meets waitress Lauren Ribido, a teenaged girl who finds a permanent spot in her heart. Susan Ericksen's voice ripples with emotion as she deftly switches characterizations. She employs expert use of an Italian accent to portray Angie's mother and even offers subtle changes of tone in her vocalizations of Angie and Lauren as their relationship evolves. When Lauren is abandoned by her mother and faces life-changing decisions, Ericksen's use of inflection immerses the listener in this heartwarming story.
