Girl works for Guy. Guy runs My Company, Inc., which is owned by Rex. Girl is the story's initiate--idealistic and brainy, sensual yet principled--and voiced with snotty aplomb by the authors. Girl climbs the corporate ladder, desperate to achieve recognition and further her feminist goals in the shallow image-and-ego-driven New York City business world. Like most initiates, she encounters enemies, allies, mentors, and lovers--and you'll cling to every word as she does. The acting is authentic and rooted in real-world experience, and the writing is tight and knowing. Blatant, clever symbolism aside, CITIZEN GIRL is a comic insider's view of the Pilgrim's Progress facing today's citizens possessed of both soul and conscience.
