Paulson, founder of Executive Speaking and Success Strategies Inc., teaches the basics and fine points of public speaking. Aimed at business people, the program applies equally well to anyone speaking before a group or camera. The reader's voice sounds somewhat high-pitched and childlike in beginning chapters. Later the voice calms. Intonation is highly expressive, and this strengthens the program during portions that are common knowledge and perhaps mundane. Carefully articulated, the narration has excellent transitions from tape to tape and from chapter to chapter. The sound is so crisp that the listener occasionally hears the turning of a page.
