DIABOLIC PLAYHOUSE

Crazy Dog Audio Theatre is great fun. The six dramas on this single disc range in genre from dystopian social satire to a kind of "Twilight Zone" deal-with-the-devil story, with sea stories, poetry, and public culture added along the way. The scripts are original but always resonant of those earlier genres. The company plays off them with a steady stream of humor, ranging from subtle to slapstick for the ear. The sound effects are always excellent, as are the voices. The one weakness to these productions is that they all need editing--each is repetitious and long.
