MINNIE AND MOO: THE ATTACK OF THE EASTER BUNNIES

When the farmer declares he's too old to play the Easter Bunny, Minnie and Moo feel compelled to find a substitute and work their way through the barnyard on their quest. Narrator Barbara Caruso invents a sort of bovine Southern drawl for the two cows, which cracks listeners up; you can practically hear the two chewing their cuds between sentences. Her portrayals of the other creatures are equally funny. Favorites in this story include gruff, self-centered Elvis the Rooster and the bleating sheep. Caruso's pacing is perfect for young readers, who can easily follow her clear voice, catching all the jokes and enjoying the humorous illustrations as the story unfolds.
