THE RATS

As mutant flesh-eating rats emerge from the dark underground of London, the city must figure a way to combat the intelligent and aggressive creatures while also protecting the millions. The city evacuates as a specialized team figures out how to destroy the menace. Herbert's gruesome tale of mass infestation leaves the most stolid listener queasy with help from Gareth Armstrong's controlled reading. His crisp English voice paces the story with a calm but intense escalation. Armstrong also proves capable with the range of English accents and character emotions. His vocal rendering of the more grotesque scenes of the story proves chilling and leaves listeners feeling a bit more apprehensive about small four-legged creatures.
