MARGUERITE BY THE LAKE

Helen Laser adopts a gravelly voice for this story of love, jealousy, and secrets. The creepy plot involves a painting titled "Marguerite By The Lake" and takes place at a garden estate named Rosecliff. Phoenix, a gardener, has a tumultuous affair with owner Geoffrey Gray, which is followed by the unfortunate death of his wife, Marguerite. Her death appears to have been an accident, but is that really the case? Laser increases her pacing as Phoenix becomes ensnared in Rosecliff's allure, but as time passes, she experiences paranoia and terror. Is it caused by Geoffrey and his increasingly secretive ways or perhaps by Marguerite's vengeful ghost?
