The news about this thriller is all good. Wolstencroft's first book on audio is a success--thanks in part to narrator Gordon Griffin. George and Charlie, two senior British agents hoping to soon retire, are given their final assignments--each is to terminate the other. Wolstencroft manages to weave a serious yarn about the espionage business and punctuate it with humor without distracting from the story. Griffin's pronounced British accent flows perfectly for this duo. Irony seems to drip from his words. His narrative reading is crisp and clear, moving one right along to the exciting climax, which receives appropriate emphasis. A.L.H. © AudioFile 2006, Portland, Maine [Published: DEC 06/ JAN 07]
