This full-cast production offers some great listening. Detective Midge McGowan is dismayed by her coworkers' retirement gift--a ticket to a weekend haunted house tour. Encouraged by her wife to attend, she reluctantly agrees. Other attendees include a married couple, a pop diva, a ghost-obsessed podcaster, the bus driver, and the owner of the tour, who is a former police detective. The cast, especially Jacqueline King voicing Midge, does a wonderful job of creating the oddball group. Yet there are some not-so-great audio moments. Podcast sequences are preceded by overly long piano intros, while the use of realistic, echo-like podcast recordings makes some of the dialogue difficult to understand. All the narrators are topnotch, and the mystery and its solution are extremely clever. S.J.H. © AudioFile 2025, Portland, Maine [Published: DECEMBER 2025]
