MEMORY BOOK

The eleventh in the Benny Cooperman mystery series is the first since 2000, when author Engel suffered a stroke that left him with the ability to write but not read. After being viciously attacked, Private Eye Cooperman awakens in a Toronto hospital. From his hospital bed, with the help of his girlfriend, Anna, he uses a "memory book" to jot down clues to his condition. Ron Halder's Benny is vulnerable yet strong and convincing as he uncovers the why and who of the attack. Donna White portrays both Anna and Benny's feisty nurse, characterizing them as loving but determined women. The dynamic narrators make this so-so mystery into an exciting quest.
