NIGHTMARE STAIRS

Convinced she is being haunted by memories of past lives and bizarre dreams, Kirsty comes to believe she is the reincarnation of her own grandmother, who died in a fall down a flight of stairs. The teenager launches a campaign to "spook" her aunt into confessing to the crime. Alison Reid adopts a carefree, cheeky attitude when Kirsty makes her plans. She balances a teenager's lightheartedness with the undertones of someone being tormented by nightmares and driven by the desire for justice. In truth, Kirsty's parents are kind and loving, her aunt is evasive but not evil. These characterizations place Kirsty and her reality on center stage, and set up the story for a final plot twist.
