PLAY TO THE END

by | Read by Gordon Griffin

Fiction • 11.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2004

Like hero Charles Paris in the series by Simon Brett, Toby Flood is an unaccomplished actor who becomes embroiled in a murder and then is suspected by the police and scorned by his wife. Flood is stuck down in Brighton near his estranged wife and her shady prospective husband. Gordon Griffin narrates with a pizzazz that makes the listener forget that he is really only one person. The villains are scary, and the women sound believably female. As the plot develops, more characters and more accents are revealed, all well delineated. Griffin's talents round out the Toby Flood character and make him a sympathetic, if bumbling, hero. B.H.B. © AudioFile 2007, Portland, Maine [Published: JUN/ JUL 07]
