Cazet's popular cow duo become sleuths, tracking down whoever stole Minnie's jelly donut. Minnie might have been content to let the culprit remain a mystery, but as Moo darkly notes, "One is never enough for those who shop in the supermarket of crime." Barbara Caruso expresses all the story's humor while playing up the two cows' different personalities. Minnie, sweet and innocent, wants to believe the best in barnyard nature; she points out gently that it was just a donut. Forceful Moo, cynical and full of foreboding, believes they must stop the thief because--"What's next? Candy from babies? Tires from the school bus?"
