Timothy desperately wants a family pet but only one that will be quiet enough for the peaceful valley in which his family lives. The yearly trip to the fair, with all its bustle, excitement, and noise, provides favorite family entertainment--from political speeches to horse races and Ferris wheel rides. Might the fair also yield a peaceful pet? Jim Weiss's distinctive narrative voice delivers intimate storytelling, paced for relaxed listening and careful attention to details. He personalizes each character--earnest Timothy, the dejected Ferris wheel operator and peanut seller, and the plotting little man barking "Ring-a-Duck."
