In the fourth in this series featuring Detective Seymour of Scotland Yard, it is 1912 in exotic Tangier. One of the international community, a Frenchman named Monsieur Bossu, has been murdered during a pig-sticking hunt. Seymour has been brought in as a neutral outsider, but he soon becomes entangled in the intrigues of Moroccan life. Clive Mantle is superb as Seymour, but he gets confused as he jumps from one character to another, one accent to another—not helping the listener trying to figure out who's speaking. Mantle does bring the fascinating city to life but, overall, this is not a strong addition to the series. M.T.B. © AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine [Published: DECEMBER 2008]
