AGATHA RAISIN AND THE WIZARD OF EVESHAM & THE MURDEROUS MARRIAGE

Earphones Award Winner

by | Read by Penelope Keith and a Full Cast

Mystery & Suspense • 2 hrs. • Audio Program • © 2009

They’re all here, and they're perfect—Roy, Bill Wong, Mrs. Bloxby, and, best of all, Agatha Raisin, the modern-day Miss Marple who solves mysteries in the Cotswolds. The humor is a bit racier than usual, and double entendres abound. Spot-on delivery is an indication of the perfect teamwork of the narrators, and Penelope Keith as Agatha shines brightest. Sound effects for the outdoors such as birds and a running car bring listeners into the action. In one of the stories everyone joins in a talent show to raise money for the church. This plot point gives many who have appeared in the Raisin novels in the past the opportunity for cameos. This production is an ideal introduction to the series as well as a special treat for those who usually listen to single-voiced narrations. S.G.B.
