SUPREME JUSTICE

Jonathan Davis's outstanding narration does more for the sequel to EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE than it deserves. Brad, the hero of the earlier book, who brought down a U.S. president, is now a clerk at the U.S. Supreme Court. For a nefarious reason, someone doesn't want the Court to examine the case of a policewoman charged with murder who is on death row. With its numerous references to the first book and a very long flashback, this is not one of Margolin's best efforts. Davis gives his best effort to make the obvious interesting, the characters vivid and credible, and the action somewhat exciting (though there's much more talking than anything else).
