33 MEN Inside the Miraculous Survival and Dramatic Rescue of the Chilean Miners

by | Read by Armando Valdez Kennedy

Biography & Memoir • 7.75 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2011

The incredible story of the Chilean miners who survived a month underground is written in journalistic style and told with cinematic verve by Armando Kennedy. His rich baritone conveys this masculine story of the several dozen men who captured the world’s attention when the mine they were working collapsed. Kennedy is a capable narrator who has a sense of the historic nature of the story he’s telling. What is somewhat distracting, however, is the inconsistent use of a Latino accent for some of the lines of dialogue. Though surely well intentioned, the accent contrasts with the otherwise natural flow of the story. M.R. © AudioFile 2011, Portland, Maine [Published: AUGUST 2011]
