This reading is solid and clear, but it’s not great. The portions of the text where Phillips discusses King's strategies and insights are delivered well. But very few readers can do justice to the sermons and speeches of one of the great voices of justice in our age. And when one hears the passages from Dr. King, one cannot help but recall the moving recordings of him. However, the work itself is interesting, both as an account of leadership and a look at the Civil Rights Movement of the ’50s and ’60s.
