Mystery & Suspense • 11 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1999

A U.S. submarine disappears in the Atlantic in 1943 and then mysteriously appears in San Diego harbor some fifty years later. Strange, and sometimes tragic, occurrences of a supernatural nature happen. Then a neo-Nazi group takes an interest in the sub and . . . . All these events test the faith of a retired U.S. Navy captain. Although a bit shallow in character development and more than a bit shallow theologically, the plot is intriguing and captivating. Jack Garrett's performance, while nothing to brag about, is adequate. Narrative sections are clear, while male characterizations and German accents suffice. No attempts at female characterization are made. M.T.F. (c) AudioFile 2001, Portland, Maine [Published: DEC/ JAN 02]
