COMING HOME

In this suspenseful romance, Vanessa leaves an abusive relationship and creates a new home in St. Dennis, where her brother and father live. Xe Sands has a melodic lilt in her velvety voice as Vanessa, who is determined not to get romantically involved again—especially with Grady, who also has a past. Though Sands’s female voices are distinct from one another, the voices of the male characters often merge. Also, Sands swallows some words in her quick-paced reading; however, her voice is animated.
