DEATH OF CAESAR The Story of History's Most Famous Assassination

by | Read by Robertson Dean

Biography & Memoir • 8.25 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2015

Robertson Dean's subtly dark, intimate tone gives Strauss's account of Caesar's assassination a sense of the urgency and danger of those days. Dean deftly narrates the events leading up to the Ides of March and delivers a literal blow-by-blow account of the murder and its dramatic aftermath, usually without getting the listener lost in the many details (though it's easy to lose track, at times, of which Brutus is which). Dean maintains a serious tone for a serious work without losing energy or slowing the pace. This performance is like the narration of an intelligent documentary, watched with the mind's eye.
