Macy relates this first-person story of adolescent self-discovery. During a summer in which she and her mother talk about any-and-everything except her father’s sudden death--friends, a handsome artist, and the unexpected crises of “Wish Catering” to the terminally ill bring her to many realizations. Questions are a central theme, and Macy’s youthful uncertainty and yearning for answers highlight the plot.
