CATCH 22

There is probably no better narrator for this presentation of Joseph Heller's classic. Alan Arkin reprises his role as Yossarian in the 1970 film version of CATCH-22, and here gets the opportunity to portray the other hilarious characters, as well. The result is a confident performance that, ironically, sounds schizophrenic at times, especially as Arkin literally shouts lines of rapid-fire dialogue between characters. The tone of resignation in Arkin's voice matches perfectly Yossarian's resignation to a perversely bureaucratic system that teaches us the only freedom we ultimately have is to say no.
