THE CLOCK WINDER

by | Read by Mary Peiffer

Fiction • 10.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1972

Seemingly carefree Elizabeth Abbott arrives on the doorstep of recently widowed Pamela Emerson, who lives alone outside Baltimore in a house filled with her husband's clocks. It takes a good reader to effectively present the story that follows, a tangle of relationships among Elizabeth, Mrs. Emerson and her grown children. Mary Peiffer is up to the task. She reads in a smooth voice with clarity and understanding. She also delineates characters well, successfully communicating mannerisms and the feelings of each character. This is a fine match between reader and novel. C.R.A. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: APR 95]
