MARY CALLED MAGDALENE

George creates an interesting portrait of a character the Bible spends little time with, and based upon this portrait, could be said to have been marginalized. The Mary Magdalene of this book is a core disciple of Jesus who plays a central role in the early Church. Melissa Hughes reads carefully with the air of a true believer in the story. Alternating between third-person and first-person narration, this testament of Mary begins with her childhood and her first encounter with Jesus as a young girl.
