THE MUMMERY

To move beyond the absurdity of life requires guidance we didn't get from Mom and Dad. The fictional teachers in this novel/theatrical piece coach the hero as he encounters a series of ordeals. Overcoming these challenges moves him beyond the "mummery," or meaningless ritual of life, and into a relationship with the global human community. The author is a proponent of the religion ADIDAM, which advocates a devotional relationship with him and a spiritual practice that embraces all aspects of life--physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. The theatrical reading by Welsh is spellbinding and a good fit for the story, which is also helped by written information about the story line, intended message, and author.
