"Wu li," Chinese for "physics," translates literally as "patterns of organic energy," but it can also mean "my way," "nonsense," "I clutch my ideas," and "enlightenment," depending on the pronunciation. With these metaphors, Zukav presents a lucid, thorough and entertaining explanation of the new physics. The printed text contains few diagrams and no equations, so the narrator doesn't have to try to "read" pictures. The footnotes are read into the text at the point they occur and are introduced by a spoken, "footnote."
