FRONTIER TRILOGY #1 Westward

by | Read by Sambrook Ericson

Western • 6 hrs. • Abridged • © 2003

When Clay Holt returns to the Ohio Valley after traveling with the Lewis and Clark Expedition, he sparks a blood feud with the Garwood clan. Tensions have been fueled in his absence by Josie Garwood's claims about a romantic encounter. Holt and his brother, Jefferson, are forced to flee, heading out West once again. Sambrook Erickson reads the melodramatic story in a bold, clear voice. His character voices are a bit overdone, but it ends up adding to the old-time dramatic style. However, the music between passages, meant to create the atmosphere of a sweeping saga, tends to be annoying and unnecessary. Still, the opening installment of the Frontier trilogy is brisk fun.
